I might suggest mentioning off-hand, somewhere a bit earlier, that typing is a prerequisite for your assistance...the ending didn't pack quite the punch it should have because I had to read your note before realizing why that was a huge big deal.
I had lots of fun reading this nonetheless! Last year I spent some time as a support worker for university students, and spent a lot of time working with one woman on her computer use, so it rang a few bells. (Unfortunately, it wasn't quite as rewarding, all told, as I'd have liked/as your job seems to have been, but, still, a good experience.)
